WHO WE ARE:
SHAWL Society is an emerging grassroots advocacy group, based on the Spokane Indian Reservation in eastern Washington. The major focus of this effort involves developing community education and strategies to address impacts of radiation exposure due to 50 plus years of uranium mining and milling on this reservation.
Recently, Twa-le Abrahamson was Amy Goodman's guest on Democracy Now, to discuss impact of radiation exposure on the Spkane Indian Reservation from over fifty years of uranium mining. Twa-le is the Youth Coordinator and a founding member of SHAWL Society. A link to the interview can be found here: Democracy Now
